Today we celebrate the launch of our website, www.neutralplanetrecords.ca, as well as our blog. I can't say I'm convinced anyone is going to be all that interested in reading it, but that's a choice for everyone to make on their own.
Hail to the Pony!, who's mad skills, both inherent and acquired, are responsible for making the website a reality. We've laid many bricks for this particular pyramid, and he has dragged them up the mile-high ramp and set them into place, all without complaint... well, perhaps with some complaint, but who could blame him? Our ideas are nebulous at best, and we, as a rule, make things up as we go.
It's true what they say, though, that collaboration is its own reward. I'm pretty consistently amazed at the creative perseverance and brain-grinding determination of the artists and musicians that I get to work with here. You guys (yes, I mean you) rock and are awesome. Okay, ahem... enough feelings, back to neutrality.
In musical news, the still-hasn't-got-a-band-name band is working hard on the album project, learning all kinds of things about what we're absolutely not going to do next time. But despite the learning curve and our inevitably over-committed schedules, we're making some progress. The rhythm tracks are done, and we're back in the conceptual zone as we look for tone, compose new layers, and start thinking about lyrics.
But that's not all, (that's never all, we get bored way too easily). We're working on some theme song concepts for an audiobook we're producing (more news to come on that project), Dan, in between bass tracking, has started recording demos for Gas Giant, and I've started musing about the fast-approaching winter and what songs could be sewn ungraciously together for this year's Nights of Neutral album, (requests welcome).
A note or two on the website: The site is still undergoing changes and updates, and many things are missing or out of order, so please bear with us as we work out the glitches, and feel free to let us know about any problems you might encounter, (in as neutral or un-neutral a manner as suits your mood).
That's all for now. Either myself or some other Neutral Planeteer should have something more to say sooner or later.
